A handsome set of eight Edwardian mahogany dining chairs, comprising six side chairs and two carver armchairs, dating from the early twentieth century.
The chairs feature elegant pierced Gothic splat backs with decorative inlaid detail to the top rails. The frames are raised on square tapering legs united by stretchers, typical of Edwardian dining chair design.
The two carver chairs have shaped arms and slightly taller backs, making them ideal for the head of the table.
All chairs retain their floral upholstered drop-in seats, which are very clean and present well against the warm mahogany frames.
A refined and well-proportioned set suitable for both traditional and contemporary interiors.
We particularly like this set for its proportions and condition. Edwardian dining chairs are often found as mismatched sets, but it is increasingly difficult to find a complete 2+6 arrangement with clean upholstery and well-preserved frames, making this an excellent ready-to-use dining set.
