A handsome late Victorian burr walnut fold-over card table dating from circa 1890.
The table is designed in the Georgian Revival style and features a beautifully figured burr walnut top with a shaped front edge, decorative carved border and elegant proportions.
The shaped frieze is supported on four cabriole legs with carved shell detail to the knees and pad feet.
The hinged top opens to reveal a traditional green baize playing surface, making the table ideal for cards or games. When closed, its compact proportions allow it to work equally well as an occasional or side table.
The burr walnut has a rich colour and attractive figuring throughout, giving the table plenty of decorative appeal.
Condition
Good antique condition with general signs of age and use consistent with its period. There is some minor damage to a section of the carved edging, which has been clearly photographed.
