A handsome late Victorian mahogany mirror-backed sideboard or chiffonier, offering an excellent combination of decorative detail and practical storage.
The substantial upper section features a central rectangular mirror, flanked by raised mahogany panels, turned columns and shaped display shelves. A moulded cornice completes the architectural design.
The lower section comprises two spacious drawers above three panelled cupboard doors. The interior provides generous storage and includes removable fabric-covered shelves. The sideboard stands on finely turned legs and retains its decorative brass handles and fittings.
This impressive piece would make a striking focal point in a dining room, living room, hallway or entrance hall.
The sideboard is in good antique condition, with surface marks, fading, wear and variations to the finish consistent with its age and use. There is some visible wear across the top surface. It remains sturdy, functional and ready for use.
