A handsome antique Georgian mahogany chest of drawers, dating from circa 1800–1820, featuring beautifully figured mahogany, traditional brass handles and a wonderful rich, aged patina.
Dating from the late Georgian to early Regency period, this substantial chest combines elegant period styling with generous, practical storage. Its classic two-over-two drawer configuration provides two smaller upper drawers and two large full-width drawers, making it ideal for storing clothing, linens and everyday essentials.
The mahogany has developed a beautiful depth of colour over more than 200 years, displaying attractive natural grain patterns, warm reddish-brown tones and the character associated with early 19th-century furniture.
Traditional circular brass drawer knobs complement the finely moulded drawer fronts, while the shaped apron and bracket feet add understated Georgian elegance.
Measuring 127.5 cm wide and just 87 cm high, this chest has particularly attractive low proportions, making it a versatile choice for a country house bedroom, period hallway, traditional living room or cottage interior.
An authentic piece of early 19th-century antique furniture, offering timeless craftsmanship, beautiful natural wood and excellent everyday functionality.
