An elegant early 20th-century figured walnut cupboard chest by Wylie & Lochhead Ltd of Glasgow, retaining its original maker’s label with Royal Appointment mark.
The upper section is fitted with twin doors opening to a spacious cupboard with a removable shelf, while two full-width drawers below provide further useful storage.
The cabinet displays attractive figured walnut grain across the doors and drawer fronts, with decorative brass tassel handles and shaped feet completing the design.
Its relatively compact proportions make it particularly versatile, suitable for use as a bedroom cabinet, linen cupboard, compact tallboy or general-purpose storage piece.
Dimensions: Height to main surface: 100 cm Overall height including back: 104.5 cm Width: 75 cm Depth: 46 cm
Cupboard interior: Height: 42.5 cm Width: 73 cm Depth: 40 cm Removable shelf.
Condition: Good antique condition with general age-related wear consistent with use. Please refer to the photographs for detail.
A particularly useful little cabinet with lovely figured walnut and a great provenance from Wylie & Lochhead. The proportions make it easy to place, while still offering a surprising amount of storage.
