A handsome vintage 1930s oak chest of drawers, combining practical storage with attractive period character.
The chest features three generously sized drawers with figured oak fronts, dovetailed joints and matching wooden handles. Its understated Art Deco-influenced design includes tapered legs and a raised gallery around the top, creating a useful surface for displaying a lamp, mirror, photographs or decorative objects.
The warm oak colouring and visible grain give the piece plenty of natural character, while its compact size makes it easy to place in a bedroom, hallway, dressing room or living space.
Approximate Dimensions:
Height at back: 77 cm
Height at front: 73.5 cm
Width: 76 cm
Depth: 48 cm
Condition:
Good vintage condition with expected surface marks, scratches, colour variation and gentle wear consistent with its age. The chest remains sturdy and the drawers are usable.
We particularly like the beautifully figured oak drawer fronts and unusual gallery top. The matching wooden handles give the chest a wonderfully cohesive appearance, while the proportions offer a generous amount of storage without making the piece feel bulky.
