A beautiful Victorian mahogany music cabinet, dating from the late 19th century.
This elegant cabinet has a traditional narrow chest form with six shallow storage compartments, decorative brass handles and cabriole legs with pad feet. Originally designed for organising sheet music, it would also be ideal for storing papers, documents, photographs, craft materials or other treasured items.
The side mechanism is marked Stone’s Patent, providing an interesting period detail and adding to the cabinet’s historical appeal.
Approximate Dimensions:
Height 86 cm
Width 53.5 cm
Depth 38.5 cm
Condition:
Good antique condition with light signs of age and use, including minor surface marks, small knocks and gentle wear to the finish. The cabinet remains sturdy, attractive and fully usable.
We particularly love the elegant proportions and unusual design of this Victorian music cabinet. The shallow compartments make it far more versatile than its original purpose suggests, offering attractive storage for paperwork, photographs, craft materials or collections. Its compact footprint and rich mahogany finish make it easy to place, while the Stone’s Patent mechanism adds genuine historical interest.
