A handsome set of four antique oak dining chairs dating from the early 20th century, circa 1920.
The chairs display strong Arts & Crafts and Jacobean Revival influences, with shaped crest rails, broad central back splats decorated with simple incised geometric motifs, turned front legs and stretchered bases.
The oak has developed a rich, warm patina and attractive grain throughout, giving the set a great deal of character. The deep red seat pads appear to have been relatively recently reupholstered and provide a smart contrast against the oak frames.
The combination of decorative backs, traditional turned legs and understated detailing makes these chairs particularly versatile and suitable for both period and more eclectic interiors.
A practical and attractive set of four antique chairs with plenty of charm.
Condition
Good antique condition with general surface wear, marks and variation to the finish consistent with age and use. The frames are sturdy and the seat coverings present well.

We really like the character of these chairs, particularly the shaped backs and simple geometric detailing. The warm oak works beautifully with the deep red seats, and as a set of four they would look great around a traditional dining table
