Antique Windsor Armchair Elm & Beech Victorian Country Chair c.1900

A beautifully authentic antique Windsor armchair, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1890–1910. This is a classic English country chair, constructed in the traditional combination of elm and beech, prized for durability, comfort and attractive grain.

The chair features a shaped bow back with elegant vertical spindles, a well-worn solid elm seat with lovely natural figuring, and gently curved arms supported by turned beech uprights. The legs are also turned and united by a sturdy stretcher, giving the chair a solid, well-balanced stance. The warm colour and surface wear are exactly what you’d hope to see from a genuine period Windsor chair.
