A handsome mid-19th-century Victorian mahogany breakfast table, traditionally known as a loo table, with attractive timber grain and a warm, aged patina.
The circular top has a moulded edge above a deep apron and stands on a substantial turned central pedestal with four scrolling legs terminating in castors. Its generous proportions give it plenty of presence while allowing comfortable seating for four, with room for up to six using compact dining chairs.
The top tilts vertically when not in use, reducing its storage footprint and allowing the mahogany grain to be displayed. A versatile antique table for a dining room or breakfast area, or as an impressive centre table in a spacious hallway.
Condition
Good antique condition with wear and tear commensurate with age. The top has age-related marks, scratches and variations to the finish, as shown in the photographs. Structurally sound and ready to place, with a correctly operating tilting mechanism.
Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form part of the description.
Dimensions
In use: diameter 126 cm × height 70 cm.
With the top tilted: width 126 cm × depth 73 cm × height 148 cm.
