An elegant and increasingly sought-after French Louis XVI Revival Duchesse Brisée, dating from the late Victorian to Edwardian period (circa 1890–1905). This beautiful modular salon suite comprises two matching bergère armchairs and a central upholstered footstool, allowing the pieces to be used individually or combined to create the traditional Duchesse Brisée (Broken Duchess) daybed.
Inspired by 18th-century French Neoclassical furniture, the suite features graceful sweeping backs, fluted tapering legs, carved floral corner blocks and decorative moulded rails. The original painted finish has developed a lovely aged patina with authentic wear, adding to its period charm.
The striped floral upholstery remains clean and presentable, complementing the elegant French styling. Whether displayed in a bedroom, dressing room, hallway or formal sitting room, this suite makes a striking decorative statement.

Good antique condition throughout.
The frames are solid and sturdy with age-related wear, scuffs and rubbing to the painted finish, all consistent with genuine age. The upholstery is clean and usable, showing only light signs of use. There are age-related marks, wear and minor imperfections throughout, all adding to the character expected of an antique suite over 100 years old.
