The bureau features a sloping fall front with delicate line inlay, opening to create a practical writing surface. Behind is a traditional fitted interior comprising multiple pigeonholes and two small drawers, providing useful storage for stationery and correspondence.

Two drawers sit above the fall front, with a further full-width drawer positioned beneath. Decorative brass ring handles complement the warm mahogany finish.

The bureau is raised on a slender open stand with stretcher supports, decorative pierced corner brackets and brass castors. These details give the piece a particularly graceful appearance and prevent it from feeling overly substantial despite the generous storage offered.
